In freeplay mode, there are no levels. You start a save by selecting a map, competitors, difficulty, and starting funds. The game starts with only three markets unlocked: Calculators, Virtual Pets, and Cassette Players. You create blueprints, produce products, and advance and unlock markets as you would in a level during a campaign.

Although there are no explicit goals, there are milestones you can hit by increasing the number of products sold in the past in-game year.

Maps

  • Timber Town
    • Extra Large Map recommended for 1-4 players.
  • Timber Town (Winter)
    • Extra Large Map recommended for 1-4 players.
  • Circuit Plains
    • Large Map recommended for 1-3 players.
  • Golden Acres
    • Large Map recommended for 1-3 players.
  • Bloomville
    • Medium Map recommended for 1-2 players.
  • Silicon Summer
    • Small Map recommended for 1 player.

Competitors

There are nine competitors available to choose from, which have their own base difficulty. You can select up to three competitors, or none at all.

1 Star Competitors:'

  • Linda Beck

2 Star Competitors:

  • Mr. Goodman
  • Aanya Bhatt
  • Dr. Kuznetsov

3 Star Competitors:

  • Bob Lazor
  • Prof. Behati
  • Monsieur Vaillant

Competitor Strength

Modifies the general strength of the competitors. This setting will mainly affect the maximum production limits and the ranking performance.

  1. Intern
  2. The New Guy
  3. Junior Employee
  4. Senior Employee
  5. Seasoned Veteran

Competitor Aggressivity

Aggressive competitors are not better, but faster. Depending on the setting, they can act in different ways:

  • Passive: Competitors will mostly react to the player
  • Barks: Competitors will sometimes advance markets.
  • Bites: Competitors also unlock markets.
  • No Mercy: Competitors will not wait for you.

Starting Assets

Defines how much money, success points, and discovery points the company has at the start. The money can either be a lump sum or a loan, which will gain interest and you will eventually need to pay back.

There are 8 options to choose from:

  • Close to None (Loan)
  • Low Assets (Loan)
  • Moderate Assets (Loan)
  • Moderate Assets
  • Large Assets (Loan)
  • Large Assets
  • Huge Assets (Loan)
  • Huge Assets

Game Presets

Instead of choosing each setting individually, there are several presets to choose from to start a game quickly.

  1. [Simple] No Upkeeps & Game Over
    • Removes upkeep costs from constructions like machines and specialty conveyors. Makes it impossible to get a game over.
    • Competitors: Dan Correia, Z3U5, and Linda Beck.
    • Competitor Strength: Intern
    • Competitor Aggressivity: Passive
    • Starting Assets: Large Assets
  2. [Easy] No Game Over
    • Makes it impossible to get a game over.
    • Competitors: Dan Correia, Z3U5, and Aanya Bhatt.
    • Competitor Strength: The New Guy
    • Competitor Aggressivity: Barks
    • Starting Assets: Moderate Assets
  3. [Medium] Normal Game
    • Competitors: Linda Beck, Mr. Goodman, and Bob Lazor.
    • Competitor Strength: Junior Employee
    • Competitor Aggressivity: Bites
    • Starting Assets: Moderate Assets (Loan)
  4. [Medium] Multiplayer Game
    • Competitors: Mr. Goodman, Aanya Bhatt, and Prof. Behati.
    • Competitor Strength: Junior Employee
    • Competitor Aggressivity: Barks
    • Starting Assets: Huge Assets (Loan)
  5. [Hard] Normal Game
    • Competitors: Dr. Kuznetsov, Prof. Behati, and Monsieur Vaillant
    • Competitor Strength: Senior Employee
    • Competitor Aggressivity: No Mercy
    • Starting Assets: Low Assets (Loan)
  6. [Hard] Mulitplayer Game
    • Competitors: Dr. Kuznetsov, Bob Lazor, and Monsieur Vaillant
